A Special Election for the Retirement Board Trustee representing Annuitant Members of the Policemen’s Annuity and Benefit Fund of Chicago (Fund) is scheduled to be held from Thursday, January 29, 2026, through Monday, February 9, 2026, 11:59 PM CST. Nominating petitions had been available on the Fund’s website and in person at at the Fund’s Office from December 31, 2025 through the deadline for submission, which was 4:30pm Friday, January 9, 2026.
In preparation for this Special Election, the Fund began emailing a notice to the eligible annuitant voters who have a valid email address on record with the Fund on Saturday, January 10, 2026 and will continue to do so during the week ending Friday, January 16, 2026 .
This procedure will ensure that the emails used by the Independent Election Administrator to send voting credentials and instructions when voting begins on Thursday, January 29, 2026 are valid.
The voting credentials and instructions on how to access the secure election website and phone number will also be mailed via USPS to eligible annuitant voters approximately 1 week before voting commences.
