2026 Trustee Elections

Election Update August 31, 2026

The elections to serve a 3-Year Term from December 1, 2026 through November 30, 2029 for a Trustee from the rank of “Lieutenant or rank Superior to Lieutenant” and a Trustee from the rank of “Sergeant” will take place via online voting from September 28, 2026 thru October 19, 2026.  An independent election firm will administer the elections with all balloting conducted online.

For the position held by held by an officer at Rank of Lieutenant or Rank Superior to Lieutenant

  1. No election is necessary for this trustee position.
  2. Since only one candidate, Lt. Brian Wright, filed petitions for the trustee position, an election is not necessary.

For the position held by held by an officer at Rank of Sergeant

  1. For the trustee position from the rank of Sergeant, the Fund received petitions filed by two candidates
    1. Sergeant John Lally (Unit of Assignment 181)
    2. Sergeant Gregory K. Sweeney (Unit of Assignment 121)
  2. Only sergeants are eligible to vote for this trustee position.
  3. The election is being administered by an Independent Election Administrator. Please monitor your CPD email (or personal email for those on disability) for a link coming from noreply@directvote.net.
  4. You can only vote via this link.
  5. Voting begins on Monday, September 28, 2026, continuing through midnight on Monday October 19, 2026.
